^{Protest against Lesbian Families in France}

^{A horrible march took place in Paris with over 70,000 demonstrators.  With all the progress with equal marriage in France, this protest against IVF and surrogacy was a huge step backwards.}

^{Yes we are aware that acceptance towards equal marriage in France has been far from positive since its legalisation.  Nonetheless a march like this is none other than blatant homophobia.}

^{The group who organised this march - "Manif pour Tous" ("Protest for Everyone") were actually behind a march last year against same-sex adoption.  The core people included Catholics and conservatives.}

^{Some may say that this was not just against gay people rather against IVF and surrogacy as a whole. Still many proclaimed that families are about having a mother and a father and therefore the message was loud and clear.}

^{What is particularly ironic here is that the march was supposedly about guarding “family values”.  Perhaps someone should tell them the definition.   I know many wonderful families that are not made up of a mother and a father and research has shown that they are often more content.}

^{Surrogacy is still illegal in France.}
