Lesbian Couple Can’t Kiss in Restaurant
A lesbian couple has been told off for kissing in a South Bank restaurant in London. This is certainly not the first time that gay people have been discriminated against in this way. Remember the recent Sainsbury’s saga?!
Lydia Cawson, 29, spoke on London Live about the incident explaining that she had been “consoling” her girlfriend. She emphasised that she had simply given her a light peck and that she had her arm around her.
The Manager told them to stop doing what they were doing as it is a family restaurant and suggested that they move away from one another.
Clearly they were “shocked” by the challenge as they were just being “loving”.
This has come at a time when there is a clear rise in reports of homophobia in the United Kingdom.
The restaurant has apologised and is claiming to be investigating the incident seriously.
In reality, the point here is why does it continue to happen? Should there be more serious consequences towards those committing homophobic offences??
