^{Durex’s new advert is not only ground breaking due to its clever dual screen, but it also features a lesbian couple.  On first viewing you see the couples from the outside and once connected to the App you see what’s really going on behind the curtains and closed doors.  Watch to see how it works.}

^{It’s great that it includes a lesbian couple.  For one hopefully it raises awareness that we too can get sexually transmitted infections.  For another, the brand are not scared to show different sexualities.  However, the lesbian couple are using sex toys, another stereotype and there is nothing in the video about potential risks.  Also the couple is femme, which is lovely, but also less of a threat for the heterosexual world to imagine having sex together.  Once again reminding me how people continue to see us in this way, as sexual objects and nothing more.  Finally there are no gay men in the advert… maybe this would have just been too much.}
