I’d rather pee in the street

Burger bar ‘Almost Famous’ in Leeds has caused quite a stir recently, but they shouldn’t exactly be surprised. Looking at a menu that offers things like ‘slut sauce’ and ‘bitch juice’, you’d think it couldn’t get much worse, but then you take a trip to the ladies room, and it spirals out of control.
The walls are painted with line after line of potential and women-specific insecurities, like ‘I’m too fat’ and ‘Laxatives are definitely the answer’.
In their defence, it was apparently a female employee who came up with the idea as a way to voice her own insecurities and those of other women. I understand wanting to express frustration, but why not turn it into a positive thing, and stop reminding other women that the world wants us to feel shit about ourselves? Why not cover the walls with ‘You are intelligent’ and ‘You are worthy of respect’?
Share some love, not some hate, and to all the ladies in Leeds – boycott those burger bastards.
